Dad blogging is a far cry from mom blogging and that includes sponsorships. Mom bloggers can get free stuff from cleaning supplies to food, but dad blogging is almost considered second rate to many companies.
I don't know if they think the audience is limited since men seem to be less social creatures or that most of the items men are interested in are too pricey for giveaways and reviews. I know mom bloggers that get free computers and other big ticket items, but they're big time and odds are you're just the little guy.
It's one thing for companies to give away a few bottles of laundry detergent or other similar items to mom bloggers because that's their audience. Dad's don't really care if their whites are 10 percent brighter. We primarily care if our junk's hanging out of our underwear and that's only 50 percent of the time.
If a dad blogger wants to get sponsors for giveaways and reviews, then he's going to have to out and find them. Don't be surprised if you get a cold reception. Tool companies and men's clothing stores probably aren't used to giving stuff away, but don't give up. Eventually, you'll get through to them and you'll be on their radar.
There will be tons of rejections, but each one that agrees is another notch on your credibility belt. When you have enough of them strung together, then those rejections will become fewer and you'll be able to go after more of the big fish.
